Bring My People Back
By Elena Kunikova and Leon Tsirlin

Bring My People Back is a satirical comedy and political farce set in contemporary Russia, with scenes across Ukraine, Israel, and the United States.
Moscovia’s ruler Voldemar Voldemarovich (VV) launches a scheme to lure Jews back to revive the economy and justify yet another invasion of neighboring Borderlandia. His top generals enthusiastically support the plan, hoping to bring him down in the anticipated chaos.
Zhenya, an American MBA, arrives to make a fortune in the land of his Jewish forefathers. What follows is a chain of blunders, mistaken identities, reversals of fortune, political intrigue, drug smuggling, treachery, murders, deception, honey traps, and true romance.
Finally, the generals give up on masterminding chaos and resort to assassinations. In the epilogue, VV, or perhaps his body double, is back in his Palace. Everyone resumes their old roles except for those killed. Mother Moscovia does not change quickly, if at all.

Elena Kunikova, a former Russian ballerina, has written for Dance Magazine, Pointe, and The Wall Street Journal Europe and is known for staging comic and classical ballets.
Leon Tsirlin, her co-writer and husband, began his career as an entrepreneur in the final years of the Soviet Union and has worked in finance, technology, and the arts in the United States. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
